8/12/17 A sunny but bitterly cold afternoon in early December over at the Velopark greeted the 86 brave riders from different schools who turned to race in round three of this years YHPSCL.
In order to keep everyone moving and get them used to the circuit we moved straight into coaching sessions with the riders working with CCH coaches on their cornering and gearing techniques. Some of them also worked on aerodynamics and learnt how to stay low on the bike which was vital coming into the home straight and the strong headwind that worked against them.
First to race were the year 4 girls setting the format for all the races with a three lap mass start circuit race. Charlie and Grace from Jubilee along with merle from gayhurst soon established a lead and held on to take the podium spots. Results below Roderick's excellent photos.

Next up were the year 4 boys and as in previous rounds the Millfields boys were to dominate with Vincent taking 1st place followed by Harris in 2nd and Logan 3rd.

The next race was the year 5 girls a group of six riders from Jubilee, Kingsmead, Orchard and Parkwood opened up a gap after lap 1. Ishanna from Jubilee began to show her form and pulled away from the rest but Sophie from Kingsmead wasn't giving up and was closing the gap when sh took 2nd place. lena from jubilee completed the top spots.

Our last race was the year 5 boys and once again the Millfields team showed strength in depth with Louis, Joseph and Fergus taking the podium spots followed by a pair of Gayhurst riders.
