Rolling to the holidays

Round three of the 2018-19 Young Hackney Primary Schools Cycling League had to make way for the Track World Cup taking place over at the Olympic park so instead of Circuit Races we had an extra round of indoor Roller Racing.
Eighty seven riders from eight schools took part - with all in the room at the same time down at the Forest Road Youth Centre it made for quite a noise when the racing started,

 The year four riders went first - four riders at a time took to the track bikes riding a 250m distance as quickly as they could  equivalent to one lap over at the Lea valley Velodrome.

 Pia from Millfields edged out Sara from Parkwood and her teammate Farida for the win.

In the year 4 boys Max from Millfields went under 17 seconds beating Maciej from Parkwood into 2nd place and Abdurrahman of Olive into third. The top eight riders were all within second of the winner.

Year 5 girls results
The year 5 girls saw the quickest time of the day overall go to Conice from Millfields - her 14.78 beating all the girls and the boys too.  Joining her on the podium were Poppy and Charlie of Jubilee.
- both within a second of the winning time.

 The year 5 boys race was close too with a duo from Millfields taking the top two spots - Harris first and Henry second with canon from Mandeville coming third.

We'll be back at Forest road for the year 5/6 Roller racing in January - the will be over 500m so we'll see who and how this affects the results. Roll on the New Year..,
