YHPSCL season finale.

The finale of the Young hackney Primary School Cycling League took place last Thursday over non Hackney Downs.  The last of three grass track events this one was bit different in that the main races were team events with all the riders taking to the start for their schools . Five teams were there to give it a go in the team time trials over three laps and the team sprints for one and a half laps.

The final overall standings for 23/24 are Millfields first, Viridis second and Rushmore third.

Well done to all the schools who took part , to all the riders and the helpers who got them long there thank you and to Young Hackney staff and helpers who made it all possible.

Grass Track part 2

 Round 9 of this years league took place at Mabley green - where I don't think we've ran a grass track since the day the Olympic torch was carried past along Homerton Road in 2012.

We had sixty three riders from six schools taking part in the mini omnium format of three races counting towards their total score. Young hackney staff were aided in setting up and score keeping by three young helpers on their work placement. They seemed to have a good time.

Grass Track Season

Round 8 of the the YHPSCL took place on a lovely sunny 9th of May at  Hackney Downs - the first of three grass track events to round off the season.

Fifty eight riders from six schools attended each rider taking part in three races . A three lap scratch followed by a 1 lap handicapped sprint and finally an elimination or 'devil' race.
